Following the announcement from the PEMULIH package by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) has made it available to the public to withdraw funds from their account prematurely in order to ease the financial burden during the Covid-19 pandemic.
EPF members below the age of 55 are now able to withdraw a maximum of RM5,000 from the combination of accounts 1 and 2. The amount will be given in a period of up to 5 months, with a fixed monthly payment of RM1,000 per month subject to savings balance. The first payment is expected to be in August 2021.
During application, it is important that your phone number matches the EPF’s record to receive an One-Time-Password (OTP). You will also need to input an active bank account so that your funds will be deposited without an issue. You can update your contact information by logging into your KWSP i-Akaun and clicking onto your Profile > Contact > Edit. Login Here
After updating your EPF details, you can begin to apply here to start the application process.
