Claim RM700 For BPR Citizens Who Have Been Quarantined Or With Chronic Disease

You can now claim RM700 from the Malaysian government through the National Health Insurance Plan (mySalam). It is a free takaful income assistance scheme for those who are: 

• Those who are eligible for BPR
• Individuals aged between 18 and 65 with spouse.
• Single individuals aged between 40 and 65 with an income of less than RM24,000/annum.
• Disabled individuals aged between 18 and 65 with an income of less than RM24,000/annum.

Through this plan, low-income groups can obtain medical protection for 45 diseases without having to purchase insurance. Here is the full list of all the diseases covered by mySalam.

Those who have registered and are quarantined will be eligible to receive an allowance of RM50 per day during the 14-day quarantine period, which is a total of RM700. 

How to claim:

Step 1: Go to www.mysalam.com.my and log in using your NRIC and the password sent to you via SMS (or the latest password that you have set).

Step 2: Click on the “Claims” icon, followed by the “Claims Submission” icon. Then, scroll down the webpage and click on the ‘Hospitalisation Claims’ icon.

Step 3: Fill in the information required and click on the “Upload” button to upload the following documents in *.pdf or *.jpeg format

1. a) Copy of Discharge Note
2. b) Copy of identity document, i.e. NRIC (front and back)

Step 4: Click on the “Submit” button to complete the claim submission.

The estimated timeframe to process both hospitalisation and critical illness claims is ten (10) working days, provided the complete set of required documents has been submitted.
