The local scene has always provided us with many unique offerings and products that truly represents us as a Malaysian. For the past year, fellow Malaysians have had to adapt to many changes. Some of which had to change their way of life and how they interact with the public. Therefore, it is time to focus on giving back to the community. In the spirit of locals supporting locals, here are some of the homegrown businesses that have sprouted during these challenging times. 

 

1. Piacere Fine Foods

The butters from Piacere Fine Foods are a must try item as it adds depth and refinement to ordinary dishes. Inspired by Italian and European techniques, these butters are made from scratch and with natural products in order to extract the most flavour out from each bottle of butter. Furthermore, indulge in their new premium flavours such as Roasted Bone Marrow (RM36) and White Wine Scallop (RM 28) or even a trio set consisting of the new flavours and Truffle Butter at RM88.   3. Delivery via Grabexpress or Lalamove (Daily 12pm- 9pm)
  4. Delivery in Penang Island (During specific times that will be updated regularly)

2. Catching Your Attention

Made by a chef who runs his own family restaurant in Melaka, this entrepreneur has made his own artisanal spiced strawberry jam infused with ingredients like cinnamon, star anise, cloves and even Iranian saffron. In addition to that, the strawberries themselves are sourced from Cameron Highlands showing the spirit of real #kitajagakita. Get a taste of this unique jam here at RM35 on Shopee.

 

3. The Bakery Men

Based in Cheras Batu 9, these entrepreneurs will create the cakes of your desires. These bakers serve mouthwatering cakes that are guaranteed fresh and have no preservatives. Cakes with simple wordings or drawings typically cost between RM58 – RM98 and custom designed cakes usually go from RM150 and up. These cakes are available to deliver via Grab express or Lalamove in KL, Selangor, Petaling Jaya, Cheras etc. Get your beautifully designed cakes for any occasion here!

 

4. Nisha’s Homemade Health Products

Finding ways to boost your health while being cooped up in the house? Why not try Nisha’s homemade wellness products. Their specialty products include health mix powder, Nannari drink and Avarampoo Tea.

6. Masala Hut

Looking for affordable authentic Indian cuisine? Look no further as Masala Hut has got you covered. This newly opened restaurant is based at Elite Avenue in Bayan Baru, Penang. This restaurant caters to your daily meals with signature dishes like Satti Briyani, Naan Pizza, vegetarian and also non-vegetarian meals.
