Construction, Transportation and Plantation Workers Now Prioritised for Vaccination

Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) coordinating minister has just announced that priority will be given to essential workers that are in the construction, plantation and commodity industries.

The Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong has also announced that workers from the transportation industry will be considered frontliners and will be receiving their vaccinations starting today. Furthermore, inoculation efforts for the construction industry will start at the beginning of July this year.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 vaccinations given in Malaysia has exceeded the 250 thousand mark for three days in a row. Dr Adham reports that 4,749,133 people have already received their first dose while a total of 1,805,367 have been fully inoculated. This means that only 5.4% of the country has been fully vaccinated.
