The Google Phone app is a free app for all android phones. It is primarily used to screen unwanted calls. In its recent update, the app will finally get a caller ID feature which will be able to announce the name or number of the caller. You can also set the feature to activate every time the phone rings, only when you are wearing a headset or never. This feature can be found on the app under Google Phone > Settings > Caller ID announcement. You will have to manually enable it as the app automatically disables this feature unless it is wanted.
This added feature is also quite handy to those who are visually impaired or who actively listen to music or general audio. Although this is not a big update, the app has been routinely updating. Other features also include call recording where Google allows you to record your calls automatically from unknown numbers.
