What are they symptoms of Covid-19
As many should already know, Covid-19 is an infectious disease that is capable of causing serious damage to the respiratory system, leading to death. It is an airborne virus that spreads itself by respiratory fluids. It has been found that most people can self recover from this disease. However, older people with underlying conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes will take the brunt of more serious effects. It may take up to 14 days before any symptoms is shown after infection.
Therefore in order to keep your family safe, this is a list of symptoms that you should look out for:
Most common symptoms include:
- Fever
- Dry Cough
- Tiredness
Less common symptoms
- Aches and pains
- sore throat
- diarrhoea
- conjunctivitis
- headache
- loss of taste or smell
- a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes
Serious symptoms:
- difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- chest pain or pressure
- loss of speech or movement
What to do if you think you contracted Covid-19
- According to the Health Ministry, you should find your nearest Covid-19 test centres here and get either an RTK-Ag or RT-PCR test.
- If you get a positive result, you should report it to the KKM by either self reporting it on MySejahtera App or through the Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah (PKD).
- After that, proceed to your nearest Covid Assessment Centre (CAC)* with your positive test result for further assessment.
